NEW UPDATE: 6/17/2020
Your patience has been astounding.
Your support for each other through electronic means has been heartwarming. Her Majesty Tamar and I could not be more proud of our people.
For those who have not heard, CalonCon will be held electronically. If you have not already, please reach out to your upline reporting structure for the schedule and details of the meetings scheduled for your office. If you have an interest in serving as an officer or marshal, please reach out to your local officer for an invite.
Looking to next month, we have consulted our advisors as well as state and local health guidelines and we have made some decisions for the month of July.
First, we will be canceling all planned events for the Month of July. This includes:
Summer Coronation in the Barony of Lonely Tower
Kingdom Arts and Sciences in the Axed Root
Feast of Eagles in Cum an Iolair
We know that many people have put in a lot of work for Kingdom A&S and would be happy to hear options for hosting the judging electronically.
Second, We will be allowing Small Outdoor Gatherings starting in July. This will come with some stipulations and is the first step in a phased approach toward larger official events.
As of July 1 your local groups MAY begin hosting outdoor gatherings for Business meetings, Arts and Sciences, and Archery if appropriate distancing and safety measures can be maintained. This Does Not include armoured, steel, or youth combat, or any other activity requiring close contact. We will expect that all local health guidelines are followed to the best of your abilities. This includes social distancing, masks, group size restrictions, and any other guidelines affecting your areas.
And finally, hosting these meetings is not required, they should only happen if local conditions make them feasible, and no one should be made to feel like they must attend them. For those groups that do choose to meet, we ask that you please do still make electronic accommodations for those who are unable or unwilling to attend in these circumstances. Further, if your groups are hosting electronic gatherings we encourage you to continue them so that a larger audience can continue to be involved.
These guidelines may be difficult to enforce, and we are asking each of you to take some responsibility for your fellow Calontiri. We are also asking the Senechalate and Baronages to take some responsibility for ensuring that these activities can remain safe and healthy for everyone wishing to attend. As in any other official gathering, if individuals insist on not following the rules as laid out here and provided by your local health and safety guidelines they do have the authority to ask those people to leave.
Again, these are our first steps toward restarting regular operations and these early days will tell us a lot about whether we as a Kingdom are ready for these kinds of interactions. These meetings will only remain possible so long as they do not pose a risk to any of our members. If there is any indication that these steps are having a negative effect on the populace, we will have to step back from these activities. Please help us ensure that does not have to happen.
We look forward to the day we can all be together again.
We miss you and we love you.
All Kingdom of Calontir in-person official events are cancelled, postponed, or held online until at least the end of July, 2020.
Small local gatherings will be permitted OUTDOORS starting in July. Approved activities are as follows:
At this time, no fighter practices of any kind (armored, steel, or youth combat) will be allowed.
Thank you for your understanding and patience!
