Calontir! As was announced at Lilies War, I am seeking a deputy Kingdom Rapier Marshal. If you are interested, please send a letter of interest to steel@calontir.org. The cut off date for letters is July 8th. I am intending to have in person interviews at Masters of the Duel, on July 19th, and announce the decision that day. If you cannot make it to Masters of the Duel, please reach out and we will schedule an online interview prior.

Calontir! I have two short steel announcements to make.

1- The Calontir Steel book has had some major updates. Please review these before Lilies War, and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

2- As you may have seen, Masters of the Duel 2025 is going to be held in The Shire of Crystal Mines on July 19th. I will be in charge of martial activities, and the class schedule. If you are interested in teaching, please reach out! We genuinely cannot do this event with our lovely teachers. If you have taught in the past, we would love to see you teach again. If you haven’t ever taught before, you are more than welcome to reach out as well! I would love to see more people branching out into teaching, and if there is anything you need to feel comfortable doing so, lease let me know.

Site opening and closing times for Lilies War

Site opens at 2pm on Friday June 6th and closes at Noon on Sunday June 15th.

Site books

Site books are off to the printers! These gorgeous and useful books will be available at Gate for $5.

His Lordship Corrigan MacKenzie (Site Book creator) and Maestra Ysabel de la Oya (Master Scheduler) have created an excellent site book and schedule that will serve you well – especially with the patchy internet access on site!

Games for Family Night

Don’t forget to bring games out for family night on Wednesday. Pack your cards, board games, etc. for all to enjoy. As you come down to taste the BBQ Competition there will be tables set out for you to sit with family & friends and play games.

Moonlight Madness will also be Wednesday evening, and you can stay and watch the annual Lilies War Bardic Competition.

The Games Tent would also welcome any games made available to them for the event.

Shower houses & Directions

The new Shower house on site only has four individual shower stalls, however we do have access to the rest of the Camp shower stalls. Details and directions of these are available on the website here: https://www.lilieswar.org/showers/

We can now confirm our food merchants and vendors! Food so good you can buy two and keep one in your cooler for emergencies!

• Ram and Poni: Saturday through Saturday 8AM-3PM – Delicious food
• Odyssey Coffee: Saturday through Saturday 7AM-9PM – Hot coffee, slushies, espresso drinks, tea

Waterbearing Volunteers still needed

We still urgently need Waterbearing volunteers! Waterbearers are the most important people on the field! They carry water to sustain the fighters during battle and your job as a Waterbearer will be to:

• Provide water and Gatorade to fighters
• Prepare and sanitize equipment
• Prepare and serve pickles and oranges
• Be awesome at washing your hands

There are no age restrictions to being a Waterbearer!  However, you must:

• Be able to lift 8 pounds OR able to slice oranges
• Be able to wash and rinse things

Greetings Calontir!

It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to cancel The Tournament of Valor XLIV out of an abundance of caution.

We have come to this decision based on the current weather reports and weighing that against many factors. Safety being the primary concern as there are no permanent shelters near the site should the weather turn for the worse.

The other being our activities. While we are perfectly willing to have a soggy Valor, the projected wind and lightning looks likely to force us to cancel most of the fun should we push on.

We are exploring several options for some sort of an alternative Valor but for the moment – stay home, stay dry, and stay safe.

Food merchants

We are pleased to welcome back both The Ram and Pony (Open Daily from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM), and Odyssey Coffee to Lilies again this year. Both will be providing the amazing services you have come to expect and we are so glad they will be back!

Food Trucks

We are still awaiting final approval for the food trucks that have agreed to join us this year. If we do get approval the options and times will still be very limited. We will only have dinner food available on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and only until 7:00 PM. Please plan accordingly to make sure that you have dinners planned as we absolutely do not want anyone going hungry.

Calontir, you are the heartland, and I know we will all do everything we can to take care of our guests. Thank you in advance from your Lilies War Staff.

Social Gatherings & The Falcon’s Revel

This year we have a new gathering place for social events called “The Falcon’s Revel“. It will be located down on the point, (where we usually gather to watch the fireworks and the Barony of Three Rivers (B3R) party is held). This is a call back to Lilies of old, where many of the official evening social gatherings were held down at the bonfire. Some of our biggest and best events will be held there this War:

• Monday 9th – Lost Moor Party
• Tuesday 10th – Tor Tuesday
• Wednesday 11th – Known World BBQ Competition & Family Games Night / Bardi-Gras
• Friday 13th – All Baronies Fireworks Party / Fireworks / Hafla

Other awesome social events not held in the Falcon’s Revel (but that you should totally attend)

• Saturday 7th – Newcomer’s Social – Newcomer’s Glen
• Sunday 8th – Blue Feather Social – Permanent Pavilion by Battlefield

Site Tours

Tours that are open to the public are held on Sunday, June 8 2025 from 9am-3pm. If you have friends, colleagues, neighbors who have been curious about Lilies and you want them to see what it’s all about, this is the opportunity for them!

Interested parties should park in the parking lot and come to the Gate. Tour Guides will meet you there and depart when either a large enough group is assembled, or people have been gathered for around 30 minutes. The tours are walking tours, so those attending should bring good shoes and be prepared for whatever the weather may bring.

Are you new to Lilies War? Then the Newcomers Glen, and the Meet & Greet are for you!

Newcomers’ Glen provides a clearly defined and welcoming encampment with easy-to-follow camp rules, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for newcomers from all walks of life. Our focus on inclusiveness extends to dietary and basic camping needs, such as an allergy-conscious meal plan and basic loaner tents available at no cost to the newcomer. We offer a range of in-camp activities and classes specifically designed for newcomers, covering essential skills and building knowledge of the inner workings of the SCA, our Kingdom, and Lilies War. All Newcomers to the SCA, Calontir, or Lilies War are welcome.
