  • Crown Letters

    Although We have ascended the thrones what seems like mere moments ago, one of Our first duties as Crown is to secure Calontir’s line.  To that end, Our Crown Tournament will be held on December 2nd in the Barony of Coeur D’Ennui.  Should you wish to participate, please submit a letter of intent to Us and Our Senseschale no later than Sunday, November 19.  Your letter must contain the following for both Combatant and Consort:

    ·        Name and contact information

    ·        Copy of your identification to verify age and residency

    ·        Copy of your valid SCA membership card

    ·        A statement of the reasons you wish to be Crown and goals should you ascend

    ·        A listing of SCA events you have attended in the last 12 months

    Please also review Kingdom Law and Corpora to ensure you meet the requirements for participation.  If you have any questions regarding your qualification, please reach out to Our Seneschale promptly.

    Crown Tournament will be fought in bouts of two-out-of-three unless the list becomes so large that this would make the tournament excessively long.  The Crown will make the final decision regarding bouts the day of the tournament.  No weapons restrictions will be imposed.

  • Queen’s Prize bids needed!

    Buongiorno,

    While many of us are currently focused on Kingdom Arts & Sciences it's also a great time to think about Queen's Prize Tournament. While many of us would love to know the when and where of the event we can't know until we receive an approved bid. This also means that the event cannot be added to the Kingdom calendar until we have an approved bid. Queen's Prize is a great event for smaller groups because the main responsibilities for the host group is people to staff gate and possibly an inn.

Please submit bids to the Reeve before Kris Kinder on December 9th. The only requirement for the event date is that it is between March 30 and July 6th. Grazie!

  • Fighter Cards

    Good Morning Calontir,
    We have updated CALON to reflect recent changes to the structure of armored combat authorizations. Fighters who were previously authorized in two-handed sword or polearm should have those authorizations replaced by an authorization in two-handed weapon. Two-weapon authorizations have been removed. 
    Authorized fighters should login and print a new authorization card – especially if you are attending Pennsic.

  • NEW DEIB Office

    Bright greetings to all hearts in the heartlands! 


    I will be taking on the position of deputy to the Kingdom Seneschal for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. My current task is to write, with diverse assistance, a DEIB policy draft for Calontir and to formulate the parameters for the DEIB Office for the future. The particular form this takes will be subject to the deliberations of the Witan. I do welcome all input and ideas, which can be sent to [email protected] . [As before, specific interpersonal issues should continue to be brought to the Advocates ([email protected]).] I hope to work towards promoting awareness and increasing inclusion and equity in all our activities.

    Greetings Calontir,
    Now that we have worked through many of the bugs in the CALON system, we are preparing to open registration to the entire kingdom, not just authorized fighters. We will be launching a number of tools for our membership including a new award recommendation system, ways for you to edit some of your own OP information, officer reporting, and possibly even a new RUSH registration system.
